The Barnes LRX (Long Range X) Boat Tail Projectiles are premium all-copper hunting bullets designed to deliver exceptional long-range accuracy, reliable expansion and deep penetration on medium to large game. Developed as the evolution of Barnes' legendary TSX and TTSX projectile lines, the LRX combines the proven terminal performance of a monolithic copper bullet with a high ballistic coefficient profile specifically engineered for extended-range hunting.

The LRX features a streamlined ogive, extended boat-tail design and polymer tip, creating significantly higher ballistic coefficients than traditional monolithic hunting bullets. This results in flatter trajectories, improved energy retention and reduced wind drift, making the LRX an outstanding choice for hunters shooting across open country or mountainous terrain.

Unlike many traditional copper bullets, the LRX was specifically engineered to provide reliable expansion at lower impact velocities encountered at longer distances. Barnes redesigned the nose cavity and expansion profile to allow the bullet to open effectively at velocities down to approximately 1,600 fps while still maintaining the deep penetration and high weight retention that Barnes projectiles are known for.

Constructed from 100% copper, the LRX routinely retains 80–90% or more of its original weight while producing large wound channels and deep penetration through heavy muscle and bone. This combination makes it equally effective on deer-sized game and larger animals such as red deer, sambar, elk and moose.
